So I have 2 ALFA Romeos now.
the azurro metallico
1987 Alfa Milano 2.5 Silver:
things to address to be roadworthy/legal:
- clutch needs replaced : slipping
fortunately I have a good spare.
- speedometer/odometer not working.
Hope this is just a loose wire at the T/A.
the speedo drive gears are NLA ??
- Idle needs to be adjusted for emissions. Car is running rich.
Previous owner stated that it posted high HC when he tried to get it emissioned.
I do NOT want to buy another cat converter !!
I have been running fuel system cleaner and trying to give her the Italian tune-up.
that should make her legal to pass emissions.
Then the suspension needs going through. It is all good,
just old and soft. Bilsteins and a bigger sway bar would be
sweet. But that costs money.
The nero metallico
1984 Alfa GTV6 2.5
Things that must be done to be roadworthy:
- Fix leak at Transaxle. Apple ~ $200 ??
- Replace rear rotors and pads. Since we are already back there gotta do it.
the rear rotors are at their min. I have good new brembos and pads ??? - Cooling system. Replace fan(s) $100-150
- repaint and replace "cappuccino tray" on the hood
Maybe:
was planning to do gotech but will probably wait on that one.
spend a little on the tires and suspension, fix the leaky rear-end. (ick)
and do a couple of track days.
